Harry Potter Third Year. The Great Firebolt Debacle of Harrys third-year shakes out differently and the whole year is affected. A third year was a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry who was in their third year of magical education and were 13 to 14 years of age.
They continue taking the seven subjects they had in their first and second-years but add at least two new subjects of choice. All third year students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry are required to complete a set of examinations to get into the fourth year. Passwords are used throughout Hogwarts Castle to restrict entry to certain areas such as house common rooms and teacher offices.
