More recently it has also been used in the Fantastic Beasts film. Lacock has been the site of a few films such as Pride and Prejudice Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone the BBC series Hollow Crown. Lavenham in Suffolk has also featured in the films.

Lacock Abbey located in Wiltshire was used to film many of the Hogwarts scenes in the films.

Keen fans of the Harry Potter franchise will soon recognise the Lacock Abbey Chapter House from the scene in Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone where Harry discovers the Mirror of Erised an enchanted mirror which is designed to show the witch or wizard in question their hearts greatest desire reflected back at them in the mirror. The cloisters served as the corridors in Hogwarts on many occasions whilst various rooms throughout the abbey were used for classrooms such as Professor Snapes potions classroom. Lacock Abbey provides the backdrops for many of the scenes from Hogwarts during the first two Harry Potter films as well as in the second Fantastic Beasts film Crimes of Grindelwald. In the past Lacock Abbey has stood in as Hogwarts for two of the Harry Potter films and more recently was used in the filming of Fantastic Beasts.
